“Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.”

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Cai Yuan Guang Jin!

Yi Ben Wan Li!

You would probably recognise or know the meaning of “Gong Xi Fa Cai” in Mandarin (written as “Kung Hey Fat Choy” in Cantonese), but how about the rest of the phrases? These are all Chinese New Year greetings in Mandarin around the common theme of being wealthy.

Wealth seems to be so important that many people equate wealth to financial status and security such as…

Being a billionaire

Being CEO of a company

Owning a beautiful house with a swimming pool

We all have different standards and our conscious minds help us think logically how to achieve the goals which are important. However, money and material possessions are just means to an end, it’s equally important to look inwardly and figure out the why. Do we use material possessions…

To fill a void?

As a sense of security?

As peace of mind?

There may be many people in our circle of friends who we believe are financially wealthy yet we still hear them claim they are unhappy, lost or lacking in life-purpose. Why might this experience be so common? We often think we know what we want, but sometimes we don’t realize the real meaning for our wants or the reasons behind our wants as they are hidden in our subconscious. Only if we truly connect with our inner self and understand what ultimately we’re looking for, then we would be able to redefine the meaning of wealth to suit ourselves and live our lives to the fullest.

I have found my greatest wealth through hypnotherapy, and that’s contentment. If you haven’t already yet, I challenge you to set a personal goal to find your own definition of wealth in this coming year.

May health and wealth be abundant this Year of the Dragon!
